ABOUT YOUR DOULA
Georgia Manges (she/her)
My journey to birth work began when I learned about doulas in high school. From that point on, it became a career goal that I felt passionately about, yet didn't have much knowledge of. I just knew that being around pregnancy, learning about birth, and holistically helping people navigate the process was what I wanted to do! I graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a degree in Gender Studies and a minor in American Sign Language Studies, which fostered an even deeper passion for advocating for and contributing to a birth world that supports and centers all types of birthing people. Bringing life into the world is a sacred and transformative process and everyone deserves steady support throughout their journey.
During my junior year of college, my sister became pregnant with her first child, which gave me a new momentum to train as a doula and become certified. I began a trauma-informed, socially sensitive, and gender affirming postpartum doula training through Cornerstone Doula Trainings and became certified at the end of twenty twenty-four. Having hands on experience assisting my sister throughout her pregnancies and births affirmed my vision of becoming a birth worker. My excitement to continue on this path has blossomed even more since then; in September of twenty twenty-five, I began a Full Spectrum Doula training through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings— a Black, Queer owned organization— and am pursuing certification through them. I am overjoyed to be doing this work and look forward to accompanying you on your journey, however it unfolds.
I am a member of the Doula network of Fort Wayne, check out the DNFW here!
